At Whisk Creamery, we produce superior soft-serve gelato, sorbets and creative desserts using only high quality and fresh ingredients and does not contain artificial colouring, artificial flavours or preservatives. All our desserts are handmade by us from scratch without using bases or premixes; every day we prepare, fry and bake our sauces, meringues, cronuts, macaroons and all the other amazing stuff that go in our desserts.
WHISK Creamery is an artisanal dessert family business run by Giulio Nelva and sons, Davide and Simon. We opened our first store in Subiaco in September 2014 but our history in dessert and pastry-making dates back to a small town in Italy called Aosta. The Nelva family's long line of pastry chefs started with Giulio's father, Carlo, in 1949 just after the end of World War II when he worked at a local bakery as a kitchen hand. Carlo's dedication to the art of pastry making led to him to gaining ownership of the bakery in 1969 when the previous owners retired. Together with Carlo's sons, Giulio and Adriano, the bakery took off to an unprecedented level and became a household name in Aosta for its authentic pasticcini (pastries), torte (cakes), biscotti and gelato. In the meantime, Guilio's sons set about learning the art of traditional French patisserie and bakery under the guidance of master pâtissiers Sylvain and Stéphane Monté before returning to join the family business.
In 2013, we migrated to Perth, Western Australia with the dream of sharing our creativity, passion and explore the unexplored in the dessert scene by opening Whisk Creamery. Today, we pride ourselves in being at the forefront of gourmet desserts in Perth by creating innovative desserts using age-old patisserie practices.
