This September and October, the City will be alive and buzzing with a full school holiday calendar.

Be a part of all the excitement that comes with dance workshops, craft, animals, dinosaurs and so much more.

Participate in any of the FREE activities below to collect a sticker for your program guide.

By collecting 4 or more stickers you can collect a prize from the Information Marquee. Information Marquee, open daily from 9.30am to 2.30pm in Forrest Place – Collect your program guide and prize here!

SILENT DISCO AND CHILL ZONE 80's STYLE

Chill out 80's style with couches, arcade games or have a dance to some of the best artists of all time on your own personal headphones.

DINOSAUR MASK MAKING

Roar!! The Dinosaurs are back in the city, with the amazing Dinosaur Discovery exhibition at Perth Exhibition and Conference Centre from 20 September. Get in the spirit with the Western Australian Museum with a free Dinosaur mask-making workshop for kids!

Your only limit is your imagination – you can become anything you want to be.

CRITTERS UP CLOSE

Get up close and personal with some of Australia’s most fascinating and misunderstood critters.

  • 1000- 1100   Petting with touch pool critters and other native fauna, feed the shark & arts and craft stations
  • 1100- 1200   ‘Critter Crazy’ wildlife presentation
  • 1200- 1300   Petting with touch pool critters and other native fauna, feed the tawny frogmouth/lizards & arts and craft stations
  • 1300- 1400  ‘Aquatic Critters’ wildlife presentation 

HIP HOP SONG WRITING CLASSES

Write your own story and turn it into a song as you hone your deejaying, rapping and rhyming skills.

PARKOUR CLASSES

Northbridge Piazza - Sunday 1 to Sunday 8 October – 10am to 2pm

Age groups will be split into 7-11 years then 12 and over.

Learn to overcome physical and mental obstacles through running, jumping, climbing, balancing and other techniques. 

MAKE YOU OWN SLIME-IN-STEIN

Perth City Farm - Mon 26 Tues 2, Wed 28 Sept and Mon 2, Tues 3, Wed 4 October - 10am to 2pm

Catch the Yellow Cat bus – it stops right out the front.

Come and make your very own slime with the Mad Scientist and his assistant to take home.  Kids are able to enjoy this immersive activity wearing lab coats, goggles and gloves. Once complete the slime is placed into a container for taking home along with two googly eyes.

PAINT YOUR OWN PET ROCK AND HIDE FOR WA ROCK HUNT

Perth City Farm - Mon 26 Tues 2, Wed 28 Sept and Mon 2, Tues 3, Wed 4 October - 10am to 2pm

Come and paint your very own rock monster pet, rock cat pet, rock ladybird pet or let your imagination run wild!  Best of all, this pet will never need feeding, walking or cleaning up after! Tips on hiding and hunting for the WA Rock Hunt will be provided.

GAME VAULT GAMING BUS

Barrack Square - Sunday 24 September to Thursday 5 October - 10am to 2pm

Look no further for a friendly, fun and interactive experience with  the ultimate mobile gaming truck featuring a sweet custom LED setup, surround sound and a library of the most recent and popular multi-player titles is.  

MAKE YOUR OWN UNICORN OR BUG TERRARIUM

Enex 100 - Saturday 23 sept to Sunday 8 October, daily 10am to 2pm

Create your own insect colony or magical unicorn garden with a variety of rocks, miniature trees and shrubs, colourful sand, magic stones and artificial moss and even fairy mushrooms all within a non-breakable jar with lid.

PLEASE NOTE - Due to an overwhelming response to the Terrarium workshops, patrons will need to collect a free ticket for a designated 20 minute time slot. Ticket collection will be at the Terrarium space in Enex from 10am daily. Tickets will only be available for that day only and are limited to one session per person. Thank you for your understanding.

 

140THURSDAY – Thriller!

140, cnr or Murray Street Mall and William Street - Thursday September 28, 11.30am to 2.30pm

A thrilling outbreak of zombies will take over the streets and laneways of the 140 precinct. There will be $5 street eats available from the 140 retailers. Lunchtime treats from eateries such as East Village, Nandos, Ribs & Burgers, Jamie's Italian, Mop Donuts and many more! Also available will be free dance classes from The Dance Collective at 11.30am, 12.30pm and 1.30pm to learn both the 'Thriller' moves and how to moonwalk.  All this will be set to the tunes of DJ Yon Jovi, rounding out the day playing all the Michael Jackson classics.

SPRING YOUR OWN – RECYCLED FLOWER MAKING and HERB PLANTING

Get into a the spirit of spring by creating your own recyclable flowers and grass head planting pots to take home!  Check out our field of recyclable flowers and enjoy activities including sustainable arts and craft, tai chi, giant games, storytime and many more...
