Kings Park 


All roads into Kings Park are closed on Australia Day from 6am. Fraser's Restaurant clients with vehicle passes, tour coaches and taxis can get to the main car park via Saw Ave and May Dr. Motorists with ACROD permits will also be permitted.

The Celebration Zone South Perth features multiple areas with 100 free activities suitable for toddlers through to adults and a wide range of food vendors.

New in 2017 are Archery Tag, Barrel Toss, Box Caving, Tip A Doll, Jacobs Ladder and Spider Ball. Some of the new activities are a first for WA.

The celebration Zone is alcohol and smoke free, family friendly fun with plenty of entertainment, games, rides, art and craft.

Accessible ‘grass tracks’ for people with disability, walkers, prams and strollers.

Art Tent

3.00pm to 7.00pm

In the Art Tent kids can be inspired by what they love about Australia through art and craft. Decorate a kite or a paper umbrella, make a friendship bracelet, create a beautiful sand art card or make an original fridge magnet. 

Big Top

3.00pm to 7.00pm

The Big Top offers onstage entertainment with magicians, storytelling and dance.

Rainbow Tractor Trains

3.00pm to 7.00pm

Explore the Celebration Zone by taking a ride on one of the Rainbow Tractor Trains. Please check the map for designated train stops.

Kings Park and Botanic Garden offers a vantage point from the approved lawn areas behind the safety tape.

Entry is by gold coin donation to the Friends of Kings Park. All donations will be directed to the conservation of Western Australian flora, to help improve visitor facilities, and assist in maintaining some of our State's significant cultural and memorial sites.

For the protection of the Park, dogs are not allowed and the use of barbecues, sparklers and open flames is not permitted.

Visitors to Skyworks 2017 are reminded that it is illegal to consume alcohol in public.

However, to allow adults to have a responsible alcoholic beverage during their picnic and the fireworks display there are two designated BYO Picnic Zones where limited alcohol can be consumed.
