Discover Spring in the City this weekend

Perth City is blooming with a range of activities this weekend including the launch of the Kings Square Swings, the giant illuminated flowers and Hounds Day Out!

Saturday 15 September

Farmer’s Market
Perth City Farm, 8am – 12pm
Perth's original organic Farmer's Market is still kicking! Come on down to the Perth City Farm Market on a Saturday morning from 8am to grab some fresh produce and organic pantry items. Grab a beautiful brekkie from the City Farm Cafe and have a wander around the farm while you're here!

Giant Bird Cages
Hay Street Mall, 8am – 11pm
Visit the Hay Street Mall this Spring to see giant bird cages! It’s the perfect opportunity to grab a seat or take a snap to share your Spring style! The birdcage will feature in the mall between Saturday 15 September until Sunday 14 October.

Kings Square Swings
Kings Square, 12noon – 8pm 
The 12-interactive glowing oval swings are a nostalgic experience for all to enjoy. Don’t forget to tag #springinthecity #kingssquareswings and @kingssquareperthcity. Swings are available for use daily between 15 September and 14 October, 12pm - 8pm and live DJ’s will be spinning chill-out tunes each Saturday night between 5pm-8pm.

Spring Flower Bloom
Cathedral Square, from 8am – 11:45pm
Head down to Cathedral Square and enjoy the giant light up flowers with your friends and family. The light up flowers will be available to view anytime from 15 September to 14 October, however they will be best viewed at night. Take some snaps and don’t forget to tag #springinthecity

Bright Bridge 
Perth Cultural Centre, from 8am
Visit Perth Cultural Centre to see the amazing Bright Bridge, best viewed at night. It’s the perfect opportunity to take a snap to share your Spring style! Don't forget to tag #springinthecity

 

Sunday 16 September 

The Adorable Florables 
Kings Park, 10:30am – 1:30pm
Kings Park's beloved wildflower characters, the Adorable Florables, are back to enjoy the glorious spring sunshine in Kings Park this September. Mingle with these larger than life wildflower characters and see the mischief they get up to while strolling around the park on select Sundays this September!

Wildcats Fan Day
Russell Square, Northbridge, 11am  - 2pm
The ultimate opportunity to interact with Perth Wildcats and Perth Lynx players in a relaxed, family-friendly environment. And, it's FREE!

Hounds Day Out
Supreme Court Gardens, from 10am
Free The Hounds, a greyhound welfare advocacy group, is proudly hosting Hounds Day Out, their annual fundraiser this Sunday. All are welcome to come along - including fido! Entry is via gold coin donation which includes entry to win a door prize! Dog lovers are invited to peruse around 35 stallholders offering a diverse range of dog-related products. You will be able to pick up delicious treats, on-trend bandanas and even onesies.
